We've been missing you!
Woo Woo Woo. It's me, Lola. Sorry we've been away so long, but we have really been having a lot of fun (despite the lack of human transcription). Journey and I have been helping in the kitchen quite a bit, so Mom got us aprons. What do you think?
The humans have been doing the annual mulch dance. It takes almost 2 truckloads to get all the beds mulched. I don't know why they bother. I just dig it all up anyway, but it sure has some great new smells. Here are the guys delivering the first batch.
The other thing the parents do that is so odd is they transplant trees. Every weekend 50 to 125 trees get pulled up from all the beds and grass and repotted. We're not sure where these all go, but somewhere generations of squirrels are going to be very happy. We have all these wonderfully old squirrel producing trees in our neighborhood, and every spring when we shed, these little trees start growing and growing and growing. The more we blow our coats the more the trees grow. It's a very interesting correlation. So far this spring Mom and Dad have repotted over 225 trees, and Mom's complaining after this last bit of rain that all the beds that were cleaned need working again. We think it's great fun b/c the humans spend all weekend in the yard with us. Yahoo!
Of course, I like to help with potting of all the garden plants. But, Mom doesn't seem to appreciate what a fine job I do. Here's some of my handy work. FYI, Rosemary helps.
Journey has been asked to be in a groomer video. Can you imagine picking Journey over me? I'm the one in a national ad campaign for Biogroom! Hurumph. We'll see if Dad agrees to join him. The people shooting the video got a pic that Mom took of Dad and Journey in our large dog house. They were so amused they wanted a shot with the two of them. Dad hasn't agreed yet. We'll see. I've enclosed a picture of each of us in the den. I can't imagine what's so special about him! I even had Mom use the same pose, and I used my brown eye side. Everyone knows the husky blue eyes get the job done better! Well, more work to do watching the humans slave away. Y'all have a great weekend with your humans.
Love,
Lola

We missed you, too!
These are two of my favorite things - supervising in the kitchen AND the garden! Wowzers, could we have some fun together! I want an apron that says "Grill SGT" on it - wouldn't that be cool?!!? Maybe Mom will make me a bandana with that on it.
Play bows,
Zim
I would like to have an apron too. And a big long spatula. I don't think I'll be allowed to have the spatula though.

Love the pictures & it's good to see ya back.

Those aprons are super cute! And all that mulch! It looks like so much fun to dig. You know what I've discovered up here? Digging is great. I used to try to dig at my Fort Worth house, but I would dig maybe an inch and then hit solid rock. Not good for the feety-feet. But up here, I can dig caves. I just don't understand why Dad doesn't like it. I can make him a cave too!
Kat
Rosemary, I'm sure I could come and help you dig in the dirt!

Mistress does think Journey looks quite handsome.
I of course think you are far more beautiful Lola
And thank you very much for all your name tips - I will post about them next time I write about the project and say how clever you all are. :)
